Should I copy and paste points from my CV onto my LinkedIn profile?

As your CV should be tailored for each application, LinkedIn can include more information about your experience, skills and achievements. You can display more detail on LinkedIn as you are less restricted to space. Your linked in can also be more personable that your CV, giving you scope to bring in information about what you are passionate about and what you enjoy. 

Should I pay for premium?

We have had guidance from Mark White https://www.linkedin.com/in/thelinkedinprofessional/ who shared that is may not be worth the additional fee. If you are using LinkedIn as a tool effectively, then the extra access does not really add much to the experience.
